How do you recruit your teachers?

Rocksteady is the UK’s largest employer of full-time, permanent musicians - and the quality and consistency of that team is something we’re really proud of.

All Rocksteady band leaders go through a rigorous recruitment process that involves an in-depth review of their teaching skills and musical ability on multiple instruments. All are proven multi-instrumentalists – many of whom have had careers as teachers or professional musicians.  

Our musicians are extensively trained to teach Rocksteady’s unique curriculum and receive ongoing training and development throughout their career with us, delivered by our dedicated academy team.  

Band leaders also hold enhanced DBS checks and attend regular safeguarding training.
