Can my child change their instrument?

Yes, absolutely! Children can change instruments if they’d like to try something different, depending on availability at their school.  You can do this by heading to your Backstage account and updating your child’s instrument preferences. Here’s how to do this:

• In your Backstage, go to your child’s name and select “Make Changes” and then click “Change Instrument or Band”. 
• Update your instrument preferences. 
• Save your updates.

If a place is available on their preferred instrument, we’ll arrange the switch from the next possible lesson (if the change happens close to a concert date, they may change after the concert). If their preferred instrument isn’t available at the moment, we’ll add your child to the waiting list for that instrument and let you know as soon as a place opens up — in the meantime, they’ll continue on their current instrument.

It’s worth knowing that the wellbeing benefits of learning with Rocksteady - improved confidence, communication and teamwork - are the same regardless of which instrument your child plays. And most importantly, they’re all great fun!
