Rocksteady’s exam-free, Ofqual-regulated music qualification is built around skills developed on a specific instrument. If your child changes instrument, this does mean that they will be starting again through their qualification.
If your child would like to try a different instrument, it’s worth giving our customer service team a call to see how far through the qualification your child is. They’ll also be able to advise on the best time to change instruments if your child is close to achieving the next level of their qualification.
Skills learned on their previous instrument will remain logged, so if they want to change back, they’ll pick up where they left off!
