Yes - you can request a change of instrument for your child at any point!
If a place is available on the instrument your child wants to move to, we can switch them over from their very next lesson. The only exception is in the three lessons leading up to their next concert where we keep the bands as they are so every child feels confident in their performance.
If a place isn’t available at the time, we’ll add them to the waiting list. Your child will continue playing their current instrument until there’s availability, and we’ll let you know as soon as a place opens up.
To make the process quicker, you can select multiple instruments your child would be happy to play through your Backstage account, which increases the chances of a place becoming available sooner.
Here's how to do this:
• In your Backstage, go to your child’s name and select “Make Changes” and then click “Change Instrument or Band”.
• Update your instrument preferences.
• Save your updates.
The wellbeing benefits of Rocksteady - confidence, communication, teamwork - are the same across all instruments, so there’s still plenty to gain in the meantime.
