Why did someone else get a place in the band when my child has been on the waiting list longer?

We understand this can feel frustrating and apologise that your child is still waiting for a place with Rocksteady.

Places are allocated based on availability of matching instrument preference and the age group of each band. If a place becomes available on an instrument that isn’t in your child’s list of choices, it won’t be offered to them, even if they’ve been waiting longer.

The best way to improve your child’s chances of joining a band sooner is to select multiple instruments they’d be willing to play through your Backstage account. Here's how to do this:

• In your Backstage, go to your child’s name and select “Make Changes” and then click “Change Instrument or Band”.
• Update your instrument preferences.
• Save your updates.
